DETROIT UREA DELETE
The wide range of makes and models we are able to repair, including Detroit Diesel engines, is one of the things that sets Diesel Spec apart from all other diesel engine service providers. You may experience a number of advantages by having our high-quality engine tune, DPF delete, EGR delete, and UREA delete performed on your heavy-duty diesel engine. This entails up to a 20% improvement in engine performance, a 15% improvement in fuel efficiency, and a reduction in unanticipated maintenance or engine downtime.
While diesel operators are familiar with DPF and EGR delete services, UREA (also known as SCR) is a more specialized delete service that is best for agricultural and construction vehicles. SCR,or selective catalytic reduction, is a part made to cut back on emissions that are released into the atmosphere. It functions by converting emissions into nitrogen and water by injecting diesel exhaust fluid (SCR), a urea and water mixture, into the exhaust stream. The SCR does have a few major flaws, though. One is the requirement to buy SCR on a regular basis. Fleet managers and owner-operators must now worry about yet another overhead expense. Second, due to systemic corrosion and obstructions that might happen, the SCR frequently proves to be a troublesome component. Fleet managers and operators often only make money while their vehicles are running and generating since time equals money.Unexpected repairs come at a cost, both in terms of the cost of the repair and the productivity loss.
ADVANTAGE DETROIT UREA
DELETE
In Detroit engines, the SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) system is designed to reduce emissions of nitrogen oxides (NOx) by injecting a liquid reductant, such as diesel exhaust fluid (SCR) or urea, into the exhaust stream. The reductant reacts with a catalyst, converting NOx into harmless nitrogen and water vapor.
A “SCR delete” or “urea delete” for Detroit engines would refer to the process of removing or disabling the SCR system. This typically involves removing the SCR/urea tank, dosing unit, and catalyst, and reprogramming the engine control module (ECM) to disable the SCR system.
Some possible advantages of deleting the SCR system on a Detroit engine include:
Cost savings:
DEF or urea is an additional fluid that needs to be purchased, stored, and refilled regularly. Removing the SCR system eliminates this additional cost.
Improved performance:
Removing the SCR system can improve the performance of the engine by reducing the amount of exhaust gas that is recirculated back into the intake.
Note:
As always, it is important to note that removing or disabling the SCR system in a Detroit engine may not be legal in all jurisdictions, and can also void the vehicle’s emission warranty, so it’s important to check the laws and regulations before doing any modification.
Simplicity:
Removing the SCR system simplifies the engine, making it less complex and less prone to issues or malfunctions.
Increased flexibility of usage:
For some specific usage like off-road vehicles or construction machines, SCR system may not be necessary and can be removed to increase the flexibility of usage.

DISCLAIMER FOR OFF-HIGHWAY TUNING
It is important to note that off-highway tuning, including DPF delete programming, is illegal in some areas and can void the manufacturer’s warranty. Off-highway tuning refers to modifications made to a vehicle that are not intended for use on public roads.
By installing off-highway tuning products, you are assuming all liability for the use of the vehicle and any resulting damages or injuries. These modifications may not comply with the laws and regulations in your area, and you could be subject to fines and penalties if caught using the vehicle on public roads.
Off-highway tuning products are intended for closed-course racing or off-road use only and are not legal for use on public roads. It is your responsibility to ensure that you are using these products in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
